"Distinguished by their striking red dorsal crests, Crest Hounds (Praecepelupus) are medium sized canine like creatures native to the northern desert regions of MPAJ03 - 0320. Primarily acting as hunter-scavengers, they hunt in packs of 4-6 taking down much larger prey though they would usually flee in the presence of larger predators. Their distinctive dorsal crests act as a sensory organ while their back plates can vibrate to produce a variety of sounds which they use as a form of communication. Their agile light bodies enable them to traverse the maze-like ravines and cliffs of their habitat allowing them to ambush their prey or escape to safety.”
